In a beautiful fusion of Western, Southwestern and Contemporary Western Design, Heidi Weiskopf created an Arizona home full of stunning western art and craft.

In the Arizona desert, there is a home filled with beautiful, thoughtful western design.  The home was designed by Heidi Weiskopf whose fondness for western comes from her childhood years in the outdoors, camping, hiking, horseback riding and fishing.

Ladera Vista is a fusion of southwestern, western and contemporary styles.  Its interiors are brimming with pieces from the network of diverse craftspeople and artists Heidi has established. Al Boswell, a furniture artist from Missouri, who often collaborates with Heidi notes,“It’s a privilege to work with Heidi.   She is intelligent, knows what she wants and treats my time with respect.  She is one of my favorite designers.

Weiskopf boldly mixes seemingly illogical elements such as reclaimed slate roof shingles from European churches with 100 year old recovered barn wood.  Heidi masterfully combines the modern and rustic elements.  She often integrates high tech appliances into kitchens and bar areas and camouflages their harsh stainless steel exteriors with carefully constructed custom rustic and natural elements like stone and reclaimed wood.

Architect Domenic Berta, a veteran of high end residential design in the Scottsdale area compliments Heidi on her latest project in Ladera Vista.  “The western I have seen in my 30 years in this area is more pseudo-western and frankly, not very appealing. The Ladera Vista project is very well done.  Heidi did a beautiful job capturing the character that she was seeking. The design is not distorted. It’s thoughtful, tasteful and the best western I have ever seen.  She has a passion for what she does.  She must if she is to do something this well.”

Of note:  Heidi Weiskopf won two Design Excellence Awards in the 2008 ASID AZ North competition for Ladera Vista project.  Third place for Residential 3,500-6,000 sq ft, and Honorable Mention for Product Design: Furniture (the western settees in the Tavern).
