Western Furniture

Western furniture can be western pool tables, chairs, leather furniture and unique furniture with western style.

Western furniture is an extraordinary way to inject western into your everyday life. Regardless of the surroundings, whether you have the privilege of living in the high country of the Rocky Mountains or dwell in a high rise above city traffic, western furniture can be a pleasant addition to any space.

Western furniture was not borne by an aristocratic edict, but rather through the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the men and women who pioneered the land of promises.  Western furniture was created of materials close at hand: wood, stone, antler, leather, steel; western furniture brings us back to nature and the lifestyle that’s made it notable.

Lodgepole pine burls bubble with intrigue, sparks flying as the hammer strikes hot steel out of the forge, antlers shed on a mountain slope all have a common thread.  Each is an important element in western furniture.

The genre, as we know it today, started to develop in earnest in 1931.  In 1931, Thomas Molesworth opened the Shoshone Furniture Company in Cody, Wyoming.  It was the beginning of a legacy in western furniture design.

With Molesworth’s legacy as a guide, new materials, styles and methods have sprung from the roots of western to give the genre a broad depth, one that appeals to both traditionalists and those seeking contemporary lines.

Western furniture is as much at home on a priceless Persian rug as it used to be on a sod floor. Like the people of the West it is versatile, honest and honors the land.
