Wake Up Call Western Oil Painting

One aspect that is particularly strong in my work is the interaction between cowboys, the animals they care for, and their harmony with nature. The cowboys and ranchers that I know have a deep respect for the animals in their lives. Regardless of the weather, they take their jobs seriously. I enjoyed this painting for the variety of textures and the quiet, simple story. The young calf may be sick and in need of doctoring, but more likely; he is just in need of a “Wake Up Call”.
