Reclaimed Metal Tree Fireplace Screen

This “smithing” project was a fun variation from my normal wood/ metal working. The wire mesh was from recycled gravel screen (scrap yard find), the door perimeters were made from old woodworking clamps that were left out in the weather for years after a shop fire (not mine!). The tree was forged so it would interlock in the middle, hiding most of the joint. As with any recycled project, the various metallurgy issues created some challenges.
