KEEP ME INFORMED
Cloverleaf Shelf
By Reid Crosby
There is a fun story about the cast wheels on this piece, while “shopping” for artifacts at one of my Amish friend’s places (he has a sort of scrap yard believe it or not), I spotted a cart out in the kitchen garden, I said “Wally, will you sell me those wheels?” he said how much, I told him and he motioned for his oldest son to run out and take them off the cart. So, the cart was still sitting there w/out wheels in the garden the last time I was there a year later. The shelf is 8’ long and has a hewn slab shelf and a piece of true wrought iron rod as an “axle”. I collect literally tons of metal wheels, tools and any thing imaginable to create my furniture and art. The latest unusual thing I drug home was most of a riveted iron watertower from the 1930’s.
