The romance of the American West is captured in the work by Alan Carr of Fredericksburg, Texas.

“I wanted boomers who grew up with Roy Rodgers, Wyatt Earp, and Gene Autry to have an heirloom to pass along to future generations,” Alan says.

“Native Texan” began as a Christmas present for his daughters. He combined an ancient mesquite tree with a replica of an 1890 Concho saddle designed by his grandfather, R. J. Andrew.

In 2005, he introduced the “Native American” series featuring the war horses of the western-plains Indians. Each steed is accented with war “paint” inlays of ivory and stone. Saddle designs use buffalo hair, antelope skins, and beading.

The newest series is “Texas Exotics.” The hand-painted zebra is the first of many animals to delight the fancies of a young dreamer.

Carr’s work is a unique, modern, a new western tradition which brings pleasure and fun today and for future generations.
