The inspiration for JK BRAND was a single, elk-hide pillow. "It all began when I wanted something in my Texas home to remind me of our ranches in Wyoming," recalls Jennifer King.

"So, I called the tannery and ordered a hide. When it arrived, I didn't want to cut it, I was a little intimidated," she says.

"It smelled so wonderful and felt so luxurious. I was reminded of the West: ranch houses, tepees, sunsets, buffalo in Yellowstone Park, aspens turning in the fall. I made that first pillow for myself and a few more for friends who have that same love for the West."

At the urging of friends, she visited gift shops throughout the north and west,making sure no one else was making the same style western accessories she had in mind for JK BRAND.

A native Texan, Jennifer claimed Denver, and Crowheart, Wyoming, as home in the 1980s. Currently splitting her time between Texas and Montana, she travels the American West extensively calling on clients with her latest designs and searching for unique, sterling-silver Conchos and turquoise beads to incorporate into her designs.

Beyond the pillows, "The ladies Western Shawl has been a revelation," she says of one of her latest creations. "We girls want to look elegant while feeling western. It goes with jeans or velvet skirts or minis. And it may be embellished any way you want it, truly making it your own."
